Michaelyn’s favorite quote.

Michaelyn made this out of one of her favorite quotes of mine.  She sent it to me saying “Thank you for helping me to find my present heaven.”  That woman is too good to me, and far too flattering.

I’m so, so lucky.

About JT Eberhard

When not defending the planet from inevitable apocalypse at the rotting hands of the undead, JT is a writer and public speaker about atheism, gay rights, and more. He spent two and a half years with the Secular Student Alliance as their first high school organizer. During that time he built the SSA’s high school program and oversaw the development of groups nationwide. JT is also the co-founder of the popular Skepticon conference and served as the events lead organizer during its first three years.

True on both counts, the sentiment in the image and the fact that you’re extraordinarily lucky to have found her (and somehow made her fall for you — probably has something to do with being young, good looking and eloquent and shit).

      And also a magician.

Dude. Looks to me like you’re both pretty fortunate to have made the choices in your lives that led to moments like this. Cheers!

    The story is touching.
    The quote is inspiring.
    The picture looks good.

Almost enough to make a guy puke from emotional overload. :P

Good on you two though, it’s awesome to find that “someone”.

I just clicked the link to the post from which this quotation is taken, and I really love the ending paragraph:

“The universe is more magnificent than anything the human mind could ever imagine, and the good news that we get a chance at a life of our own design while getting to spend a moment in that universe is more wonderful than dreams of immortality.”

I very much like the quotation Michaelyn chose as well, although unfortunately sometimes whether we find heaven or hell is contingent on things outside of our control (illness, being born into poverty, etc.) Even so, it is very important to point out that our actions do play a tremendous role in the quality of our lives, and I like the emphasis your quotation places on autonomy and taking action (rather than accepting fate/God’s will/etc. with passivity like the characters in French symbolist plays).

And, of course: that’s a great picture, and my congratulations to both of you :-D
