E.W. Jackson: Democrats are anti-god.

Virginia’s Lieutenant Governor just keeps seeping crazy.  In an indictment on humanity, this is actually what’s making him a viable candidate in the eyes of an appreciable fraction of voters.  His most recent offering is that Democrats are anti-god:

Virginia lieutenant governor nominee E.W. Jackson (R) said the Democratic Party is “anti-God” and that Christians should leave it, Salon reports.

Said Jackson: “Oh, Oh, oh I do believe it. I said it because I believe that the Democrat party has become an anti-God party, I think it’s an anti-life party, I think it’s an anti-family party. And these are all things I think Christians hold to very dearly.”

Yes, the same person who supports the death penalty whines about the Democrats being the anti-life party.  The same guy who thinks gays shouldn’t be able to marry (and more) is accusing others of being anti-family.  Christians hold very dearly to those buzzwords, but are repulsed when presented with policies that are truly in line with life and family.

How I wish the Democrats were the anti-religion party.  I wouldn’t feel so dirty voting for them.

Can we get a real, progressive, not-beholden-to-religious-doctrines political party? Please?

If only so the Republicans would have something to really complain about…

EW Jackson has been wrong on every statement I’ve heard him say. If he told me my pants were on fire while my knees were scorched and I smelled smoke, I’d still look down and see for myself. We hardly have out atheists and the secular democrats are few and far between (or at least willing to be open about it). That’s that anti-god party? I think there’s are bit of space further for them to move into on the anti-god range.

They mean “anti their version of God” party.

They don’t advocate for completely trashing the rights of every non-fundie out there by setting up a theocracy.

      Therefore, anti-god.
