God’s perfect plan.

Perhaps my favorite youtube channel is TheoreticalBS.  The man behind the channel recently discussed god’s perfect plan and…well…he owns it.

Note to self: don’t fuck with that guy.

About JT Eberhard

When not defending the planet from inevitable apocalypse at the rotting hands of the undead, JT is a writer and public speaker about atheism, gay rights, and more. He spent two and a half years with the Secular Student Alliance as their first high school organizer. During that time he built the SSA’s high school program and oversaw the development of groups nationwide. JT is also the co-founder of the popular Skepticon conference and served as the events lead organizer during its first three years.

He’s also very attractive. I listen to him now and then at night before bed. I loved his understated take down of WLC (turns out WLC is a liar and dishonest, who knew?).

Oh, also while listening to this episode, I though it was hilarious but its a dry funny. I started with just a smile and progressed to actual chuckles around 4-5 minutes in.

He’s a Soap Opera actor, but my memory and google skilz aren’t helping me to recollect his real name.

His name is Scott Clifton and he’s a multiple Emmy winner currently starring on the Bold and the Beautiful. :)

There goes a whole set of stereotypes.

This is the same line I liked to take with my “SuperChristian” TM friends in college. They hated it, because it showed how stupid the whole “God has a plan” thing they liked to trot out. Eventually, they stopped bringing up “God’s Plan.” Which I considered a success.
This guy does it much better than I did at the time, but then, I was just doing it off of the cuff. I doubt if I could have done as well as this guy even if I had written the whole thing down.

He is an actor so don’t feel too bad.

I’m surrounded by moderate Catholics so if I tried this on them they’d just roll their eyes the whole time rejecting a belief in virtually every significant aspect of their theology while continuing to proudly call them a Christian.

Catholics are taught from a very early age, not to question, not to think, not to rationalize, just believe. It’s insidious, and hard to break, and very emotional for most of them.

I’m really jealous of his amazing hair. Well, and his rhetorical skills too.
