Ohio Republican wants Syria war funded with healthcare dollars.

This week in “when bad people hold seats of authority” Rep. Jim Jordan of Ohio meets with Tony Perkins to chat about the issues.  One of those issues was the war with Syria, which naturally brought Obamacare to mind: After Jordan insisted that the GOP-led House should strip funding from Obamacare by using the budget [Read More...]

Bryan Fischer: white Christians are the last group against which you can safely discriminate.

Bryan Fischer, of the American (anti) Family Association, on how white Christians are the victims of discrimination: Really?  When was the last time a Christian was barred from marrying the person they love (unless that Christian loves somebody of the same gender)?  What restaurants are white Christians forbidden from entering? Fischer didn’t give any examples [Read More...]

No, humans were not created to be Christian.

The Christians who email me unwittingly make me very, very cynical.  It’s lots of articles that are heavy on base assertions but exceedingly light on evidence usually accompanied by assurance that this argument, after thousands of years of crap arguments, is the one that rock solidly defends Christianity (ironically, these people were all Christians before [Read More...]

Six year-old ordered to marry her rapist’s son.

I thought that sitting here in my Teemo hat reading the news that nothing could bring me down (because this hat is god damned amazing).  Sadly, I was wrong. The way religion preserves moral conclusions that make absolutely no sense in terms of compassion…it’s what makes religion so terrible.  In this case a man raped [Read More...]

Dan Barker throws down.

In a debate with Kyle Butt, Dan Barker listens to Kyle say that Hitler was an atheistic communist calmly, and then destroys him.  The fun starts at about 1:30. In Kyle’s defense, at 8:08 he has the integrity to admit he was wrong.  But then he goes on to assert essentially that Hitler was not [Read More...]

Taking to the fields of justice in mah new hat.

I’m still reading the news and will start getting posts out soon.  However, I just checked the mail.  Michaelyn ordered me a new Teemo hat for my birthday (this is after she made me Teemo mushroom cupcakes).  She’s the best! Big pimpin’. Moments after I made this my profile picture on facebook, this conversation took [Read More...]

Life is good.

Here I am…a couple years into my relationship.  It’s not that anything has gotten old, far from it.  But over enough time some things you do a lot become familiar.  They begin to mean more, but they are less exhilarating than they once were.  Holding hands, for instance, is far more comfortable than the first [Read More...]

GAMING: Vayne ownage and Heimer smash. Truly, I have gone mad with power.

Here are a few gaming vids from this weekend.  The first is a boring old ranked match where I carry hard as Vayne. The second is a little more exciting: I get Heimerdinger in an ARAM and proceed to go mad with power. [Read more...]

No mas…

I have been awake since before 3am courtesy of the contagion that has taken over my body.  I’m going to go back to sleep.  If it turns out I’m patient zero, you all have my permission to headshot me if you see me shambling about the streets of Lawrence. I leave you with this video [Read More...]

Elections in Maldives postponed in response to the most insidious of vote-rigging plots.

Ever participated in an election while wondering if you were being controlled by black magic to vote a certain way?  Well, authorities and election officials in Maldives are onto that shit. A vote-rigging row has erupted in the Maldives ahead of Saturday’s presidential election amid suspicions that one party is using cursed coconuts imbued with [Read More...]

Documentary alleges that Pat Robertson made millions on a phantom charity.

A new documentary has been released which digs into Pat Robertson’s charity mission to the Congo: Operation Blessing.  While the operation allowed Robertson to raise millions of dollars, those who worked with it claim it hardly existed.  Here is an excerpt from an article about it all.  There’s so much more, so I encourage you [Read More...]

Congressman made wealthy by agriculture subsidies opposes food stamps because…Jesus.

Stephen Fincher, a Republican Congressman out of Tennessee, thinks Jesus would not stand for food stamps.  If people don’t do the work, so sayeth Fincher, they shouldn’t eat.  As for those who do work and still can’t make ends meet or those who are incapable of work, well, sucks to be them.  CHRIST#1FOREVER AMIRITE??? …the [Read More...]

Child abuse in plain sight.

I’ve been up since 3am thanks to being sick.  It’s good for catching up on reading and for being more cynical than usual. I saw this video on Maryam Namazie’s blog.  It’s a child giving a sermon in defense of the Koran.  I have no idea what she’s saying and I’m pretty sure she doesn’t [Read More...]

Russian lawmakers attempting to take children away from gay parents.

Just…wow. Lawmaker Alexei Zhuravlyov has proposed a bill that will would deny gay parents custody over their own children. If passed it would make “non traditional sexual orientation” a basis for the deprivation of parental rights. It places same-sex sexual orientation in the same category as alcohol and drug abuse. And if you gather in protest [Read More...]
