Finals are coming up for you college students (which includes my wife). Some students are lucky enough to have a little help. I have my therapist appointment at 1pm CST, so I’m going to do quick posts to try and finish up most of my blogging before then. [Read more…]
Pastor who bragged online of leading public school students in prayer claims he never led students in prayer.
Two schools in Michigan have been allowing Pastor Russ Gabel of Freewater Experience Ministries to come onto their campuses and run the Freewater club, which is pretty much just him getting time with students (which is against the law, since religious clubs must be student led). The good news is that after receiving letters warning of [Read More…]
Despite being widely received by critics and the public as simply a terrible movie, Kirk Cameron is trying to spin the negative media around his new movie, Kirk Cameron’s Saving Christmas, as a positive and would like to thank us godless heathens for all the free attention he’s getting from it. From the Saving Christmas website: To quote Barnum [Read More…]
Sometimes someone leaves a comment I like so much that I feel it should get it’s own feature. Jeff’s comment from this morning is such a comment: Catholic philosophy is weird. As far as I can tell, the whole moral system is based on the idea that following the rules = good and not following [Read More…]
Hemant has flagged an article about a gay Christian in Australia New Zealand, Jim Marjoram, who wrote a book on being a gay Christian and emailed various congregations about promoting the book. Needless to say, most congregations simply ignored him. But one pastor, Logan Robertson of Westcity Bible Baptist Church, wrote Majoram an email expressing [Read More…]

Tucker Carlson, host of Fox News’ Fox and Friends show, said Saturday that the Satanic Temple does not have the right to erect their own holiday display on the steps of the Florida State Capitol and implies that Satanism is not a “legitimate religion.” His reasoning? The Satanic Temple is just a joke religion meant to [Read More…]
UK judge rules baby of Jehovah’s Witnesses can receive blood transfusion against the wishes of its parents.
In England there was an unfortunate accident which caused an infant to suffer severe burns. For doctors the prognosis was simple and clear: with surgery and a blood transfusion the baby would likely live. Without them, it would almost certainly die. The infant’s parents opted for the latter option because they were Jehovah’s Witnesses who [Read More…]
Here is John’s second rebuttal. Closing rounds up next. My opening. John’s opening. My first rebuttal. John’s first rebuttal. My second rebuttal. JT says ‘This is how things “can be proven false” in terms of scientific falsifiability and John does nothing to explain why false, by scientific standards, should work any other way.’ I’m not offering any [Read More…]
The Franciscan University of Steubenville puts out regular videos about various topics, such as theological debates and lectures. In this particular lecture, it features Matt Fradd, who discuses “10 Myths About Pornography”. Here’s how you’ll know it’ll be fun – He’s a Catholic Apologist. That, an he’s a fun speaker. Sorry – this is a long article. [Read more…]
I must be tired. I noticed the use of alliteration in the title and just said “meh.” We got in late last night from Omaha where the Omaha Atheists put on an amazingly fun conference. Michaelyn gave her best rendition yet of her “Religion is not a Mental Illness” talk. I’m always proud to be [Read More…]

And starting at 2pm EST/11am PST they’re going to be hitting the mic for 24 straight hours to benefit Foundation Beyond Belief. The goal is a cool $10,000. I believe! They have an all-star lineup, and look where [Read More…]
