Your morning happiness: the dragon’s song from Shrek the Musical.

Michaelyn and I made the road trip to her hometown this weekend to see her high school’s production of Shrek the Musical.  It was spectacular.  Definitely college quality and then some. It was the first time I’d heard the show and this song stuck with me.  Behold, what you can do with a $25 million [Read More…]

Don’t have sex. You will get pregnant and die.

Hey everyone! I’m totally not being a hipster and sitting in a Starbucks as I type this. JT shared this story with me the other day and I HAD to talk about it. According to this article by Jason Heap from TheHumanist.com, teachers in an Arizona school district are ripping pages out of Biology textbooks [Read More…]

Atheists who were not the cream of the crop

Bored with Christianity, I’ve been poking around Muslim channels, curious as to what they’re saying. I always love the anecdotes where the religious person talks to atheists. This commenter discusses what’s basically a mini textual Muslim Chick tract. [Read more…]

The Qur’an is true. We can all go home now.

Do you know what a mathematical proof is? Typically, they use axioms from Math-world to prove (absolutely) other things in Math-world. This can often be helpful in guiding us in reality, but that’s not precisely what a mathematical proof does. [Read more…]

Evangelical Darth Vader.

Apparently I’m late to this party, but this is just too damn funny not to share. For those who feel the need to cleanse their pallet of the bible verses, here’s a version with Samuel L. Jackson: And here’s Arnold if that didn’t do it for you: [Read more…]

Welcome three new science bloggers to WWJTD!

In an effort to make sure the blog stays up to date with various subjects related to atheism, I’ve elected to bring on some science writers.  While I’m decently informed for a layman, I can’t comment as fully on many science-related stories as I’d like.  These three will hopefully fill that void. Amanda is an [Read More…]

Help the SSA at St. Charles Community College get to Skepticon!

WE’VE HIT OUR GOAL!!!  ANY ADDITIONAL DONATIONS WILL GO TO THE SSA NATIONAL HEADQUARTERS!!! 7th Circuit dismisses case on the parsonage exemption.

Earlier this year the FFRF filed a lawsuit on the grounds that pastors were given tax benefits unavailable to atheist leaders.  They won in district court and the state appealed.  Now the 7th Circuit has overturned that ruling. The panel, in a unanimous decision by Circuit Judge Joel Flaum, vacated a strong ruling a year ago by [Read More…]

I love Lucien Greaves and the Temple of Satan.

For those following the situation in Orange County, FL (where public schools allowed groups to distribute bibles and then decided to allow atheists to distribute literature rather than lose a lawsuit), there’s some happy and amusing news courtesy of fellow Patheos blogger Hemant Mehta. The Temple of Satan has filed a formal request to share [Read More…]

Guest post: “Richard Dawkins is Coming…to Conservative Town” (To the tune of Santa Claus is Coming to Town)

The following is a guest post by Teresa MacBain. In the heart of the south, an atheist student group is making waves! The Kennesaw State University (KSU) Atheists United is hosting Richard Dawkins, November 21, 2014. I, for one, know just how bold and courageous they are in this endeavor. In late summer 2012, KSU [Read More…]
