Parshat Chukat: Numbers 19:1 - 22:1

This parsha concludes with more battles. The Amorites and the Bashan people engaged the Israelites in battle, both groups refusing us safe passage through their land. In both instances, the Israelites won.

This seems to be a fairly easy portion, run of the mill in fact, but it is clearly taking us to the end of the story -- revealing new leaders, showing a new generation beginning to take power, but also remembering what Moshe and Aaron took us through.
