Q&A with Dr. Rich Masek

The title of your book, IDEOLATRY, is a strange term. What does it mean?
IDEOLATRY is the fusion of two terms, Idea and Idolatry. Combining them speaks to the notion that the Ideas of Humans have a tendency to be worshipped as idols and elevated above God.

Is there a central scripture that drives the message of IDEOLATRY?
It is up to us to learn of Him, not the other way around. Isaiah 55:8-9 is the driving force behind the message of IDEOLATRY. God says that His ways and His thoughts are very different than the ways and thoughts of mankind.

What is the primary message that your book IDEOLATRY conveys?
We have the responsibility to learn the truth that God loves us humans and has provided everything that we need for a successful and fulfilled life on this earth and in the life to come.

What position does the book take on religion?
Religion is organized and defined by humans. It is not a God-made institution, it is man-made and subject to a great deal of corruption and deception because of the IDEOLATRY of humans.

What steps do you ask the reader to take?
Take a step away from the “religious” or “non-religious” world view that you may have and be open to examine the unbroken thread of Truth that God lays out for us in His Word.

What is the take-away from IDEOLATRY?
God is on your side and wants you to be the best version of yourself that is possible. God is not trying to hold you back, but He will not do everything for you. You still have some responsibilities and there are expectations, but He offers to help you at every turn and supply every need that you have, if you trust in Him.

What is the purpose of the IDEOLATRY Study Guide?
The Study Guide was developed for the purpose of both personal and group study. There are thought provoking questions about each chapter that are designed to solidify the message and expand upon application in the life of the reader.
