Milo Yiannopoulos was going to be the keynote speaker for the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC). However, after a video resurfaced of Yiannopoulos appearing to defend sexual assault against young boys, the CPAC has removed him from the speaking roster.
American Conservative Union Chairman Matt Schlapp made the following statement:
“We realize that Mr. Yiannopoulos has responded on Facebook, but it is insufficient. It is up to him to answer the tough questions and we urge him to immediately further address these disturbing comments.”
So conservatives are fine with the harassment and bigotry from Milo, but him advocating for sexual assault of young boys finally crossed the line. It’s disgusting that they were still considering having Milo as a main speaker in their event before this video resurfaced, but I’m glad they won’t give him another platform to spread his harmful nonsense.
