No words…

No words… November 11, 2013

Because someone broke into my house and stole my laptop.

With all my writing. And pictures.

The DVD player is missing, too, but I don’t care about that.

Because it’s not about the object.

It’s about the contents.

Hitting the pawn shops tomorrow. Hoping for the best.

Hope wasn’t on the hard drive. It’s on the heart drive.

  • I’ll keep it clean. Crap!! So sorry for such a horrible loss. Do you have backups?

    • I don’t have a desktop, so no. I knew I should’ve gotten one of those fancy external hard drives, but zero funds for that recently. Uhh.

  • OH NO! I’m so sorry! I hope that by some miracle, you find it. I just heard on the news that a man recovered his Triumph motorcycle that was stolen in the 1970’s. Stranger things have happened.

  • Ogh! So sorry! I can totally relate…we “lost” a digital camera during a remodel project several years ago. With all the construction and being “half–moved–in” we hadn’t transferred any of the pictures over — from the remodel or from Christmas. I was much more upset about losing them than about losing the camera.

    • Exactly. There’s certainly a good possibility that the computer will turn up at one of the local pawn shops, but if the hard drive has already been wiped, it has no more value to me.

    This is a good post.

  • Aww man….that sucks…

I’m so sorry that this has happened to you. I hope you find it soon.

    • Working on it. Slowly, but surely. And a backup plan, too. This is never going to happen again.

  • How awful. So sorry, Cynthia! Prayers for a miracle that it’ll turn up somewhere.
