Many people who know nothing about astrology have often heard of the Saturn Return, and the very mention of the astrological Saturn causes those with the strongest hearts to quake in their boots.  But Saturn is an amazing planet astrological that offers rich gifts along with its famous tests and challenges. Back in the early 1980s the hexagon that encircles Saturn was first discovered by NASA’s Voyager, but the recent images offer more details than were previously known. Scientists are... Read more

Iran is in the news again as new anti-government protests result in a tough crackdown by that country’s military.  The Wall Street Journal writes: “Authorities appear concerned that the protest movement could pick up new steam after Monday’s demonstrations. Students have revitalized protests that erupted after the June re-election of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, which the opposition says he won by rigging the vote.” I’ve written several posts (see the one from June here and the one from September here) about... Read more

Alexa Ray Joel, daughter of Billy Joel and Christie Brinkley, was hospitalized over the weekend after ingesting eight Traumeel pills – a harmless homeopathic remedy.  The New York Post reports that Ms. Joel’s 911 call said that she had wanted to die but changed her mind.  Evidently she was distraught after a breakup with her boyfriend, musician Jimmy Riot that occurred about a year ago. It is often said that depression runs in families, and some scientists believe that it... Read more

The case for the fight against global warming took a blog in late November when a hacker stole more than 1,000 emails and 3,000 other documents from the Climatic Research Unit at the University of East Anglia.  The unidentified hacker then uploaded a copy of the documents to the Real Climate website on November 17. At the time, Saturn was in an exact square (90 degree angle) to Pluto.  Saturn regulates the establishment, and Pluto is the Great Transformer so... Read more

Jupiter is conjunct Chiron now and we are heading for a return of the powerful emotional healing and processing of the Triple Conjunction I’ve been talking about all year.  I’ll be talking about how to move through intense emotional times and how this planetary event will blend energetically with the other cycles that are happening right now. Dates and times are Eastern time zone; please adjust for your locality.  SIgn up for Lynn’s Skywatch: Planetary Illuminations and receive the December report on Tuesday.  You can also get daily planetary updates on Twitter or on the Astrodynamics fan page on Facebook. Mercury conjunct Pluto late on the 6th and early on the 7th intensifies our thinking, and Mercury squares Saturn later on the 7th.  Communication will be challenging, and we may feel somewhat burdened by responsibilities and limitations. Moon is extremely... Read more

We are in a rare period right now where there are no planets in retrograde motion.  John McCormick’s excellent research from his classic book, “The Book of Retrogrades” reports that all planets are “direct” (moving forward) only eight percent of the time.  Retrograde planets tends to cause us to look backwards in whatever area of life a particular planet rules.  With all planets moving forward, we can see some real progress for a couple of weeks. That could shift on... Read more

One of the phenomena of the Internet Age is that anyone can be an expert.  Unlike the dark ages of the 20th century when you had to publish a book to gain recognition and renown, now all you have to do is open a free Blogger or Word Press account, write stuff that is relatively fascinating, and soon you have a following.  This phenomenon has of course benefited me greatly, because here I am.  But many of the younger people... Read more

As the world knows by know, Tiger Woods was in a car accident in the wee hours of Sunday morning.  As he was driving away from his home in Florida he backed into a fire hydrant and hit a tree.  He was found with lacerations on his face that evidently occurred from an altercation with his wife as the result of revelations of an affair that Woods had with a nightclub hostess and possible others. Regardless of what happens in... Read more
