Nicolas Cage was arrested today for assaulting his wife during an argument over which house was their New Orleans rental house. Mr. Cage is no stranger to tabloid news, having recently lost homes both in New Orleans and Bel Air to foreclosure, was directly affected by the Libra Full Moon which peaks tomorrow and which exactly aspects an aspect between the Libra Moon and Mars in his chart.  That Moon/Mars aspect in his natal chart can be very difficult since... Read more

The time of the Full Moon, when the Sun in the sky is exactly opposite the Moon from our vantage point on earth, is always a time for balance.  The Sun is our conscious Self – our goals, our visions, our ideas that combine to create our lives.  The Moon illustrates our instincts and our subconscious needs and desires – the emotions that can be murky but always real and true. The lunar cycle is symbolic of the dance between... Read more

Mercury retrograde spray? Really? Maybe I’m just a skeptic, but I don’t think aromatherapy will “cure” Mercury retrograde. Mercury’s job when retrograde is to perfect our plans and communications by inspiring us to think in a different way. Avoiding this necessary step of re-grouping and re-vising will not help us in the long run. So enjoy this retrograde period – don’t fight it!  You’ll emerge when it’s over with better skills and greater confidence. Read more

Early in my career as an astrologer, each day I carefully studied all of the bumps that the planets and luminaries (Sun and Moon) would make to my chart. After a lifetime of emotional disarray, it gave me tremendous comfort to see how when the Moon made a 90 degree angle to Saturn in my chart I felt depressed for a few hours. I could predict by watching the movement of Mars in relation to my chart when I would... Read more

I didn’t want to write about Charlie Sheen in the middle of the earthquake and tsunami in Japan when Uranus entered Aries, or when Neptune entered Pisces, equally big news from an astrological perspective, or when Pluto turned retrograde this weekend. But now that things are settling down a little astrologically I think it’s time for a little comic relief in the form of a look at the astrology of Charlie Sheen.   In 2009, when Sheen was arrested for... Read more

Over the next few days Mars in Aries will be aligning in a challenging square formation to Pluto. As I wrote yesterday, Pluto is particularly powerful right now since its motion has stalled as it changes direction to travel retrograde for the next six months.  Mars fuels our desires and the expression of our needs – it inspires and motivates us and provides the enthusiasm that helps to keep us going.  In its own sign of Aries it is most... Read more

As we know, astrology is not astronomically correct and planets don’t really move backwards. But occasionally from our perspective the apparent direction of their movement changes, which we call “retrograde.” Most of us are familiar by now with Mercury retrograde periods, which (because Mercury is the messenger planet and deals with all kinds of communication and communication devices) tend to bring about communication glitches and endless renegotiations of contracts.  Even people who don’t “believe in” astrology know that when Mercury... Read more

Here is Part I in case you missed it yesterday. This time around, Neptune will be in Pisces until August 4 2011 when it will retrograde back into Aquarius until February 3 2012 at which time it will move fully into Pisces and remain there until 2025. The transit of Neptune in Pisces this time around once again (as it did in 1848-1852) coincides with a strong aspect between Uranus and Pluto that inspires revolution and radical change and the... Read more

by Lynn Hayes To do justice to this topic I will serialize this article in two parts.  Thanks to The Mystical Experience on Facebook for this amazing image. Neptune entered Pisces on April 4th, beginning a new 14-year cycle of Neptune traveling through its own sign. By its very nature, Neptune is difficult to talk about.  It tends to be evasive and dreamy, and full of imagination and artistic creativity.  It also can become lost in the illusion of fantasy... Read more

Much of this article is taken from the Planetary Illuminations for April. Aries is self-directed, with a purity and innocence that can elevate us out of the realm of ego and into an experience of pure Self. What is it you need for yourself now? This is the question asked of the Aries New Moon, especially since it is tightly aligned with Jupiter, the planet of our opportunities. The New Moon on April 3 is at 13 Aries and contains... Read more
