Lunch Break Theater: Neil deGrasse Tyson's Cosmic Quandaries

Lunch Break Theater: Neil deGrasse Tyson's Cosmic Quandaries October 20, 2009

I really like Dr. Neil deGrasse Tyson. I know it’s sacrilege, but I really believe he has the potential to be this generations Carl Sagan. However, in today’s anti-science and pro-pseudoscience environment, I seriously doubt that’s even possible.

Recently, Dr. Tyson spoke at St. Petersburg College about cosmic quandaries. The video is truly mind boggling and fascinating. It is little more than an hour and a half long but well worth your time. If you don’t have the time to watch the entire speech right now, jump to the bottom of this post and enjoy the ten minute clip where Dr.Tyson discusses whether or not he believes in UFO’s.

The Entire Speech:

From St. Petersburg College’s YouTube description:

An out of this world event, Cosmic Quandaries, held at The Palladium in St. Petersburg at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, March 26th drew in an audience of nearly 800! With a one in a million chance of meeting one of only 6,000 astrophysicists in the world, audience members were lined up in order to have the opportunity to ask Dr. Neil deGrasse Tyson a question on any and all galactic wonders they may have.

The UFO Clip:

Now that’s just freaking brilliant.
