At Least He’s Listening!

At Least He’s Listening! June 26, 2013

A few months ago, my husband finished reading Tolkien’s The Hobbit to our boys. They loved, loved, loved it! Highly recommended read aloud!

Then, at a mass, we heard the Gospel of the Prodigal Son, upon whose return the father placed a ring on his finger. Our 4 year old became wide eyed and in the fake whisper that is louder than his normal voice gasped, “Did he disappear?”

I LOVE it! How cute! We have also loved Tolkien in our household, but I’m impressed that all of your boys sat through The Hobbit – it moves a bit slowly, especially with all of the descriptions in the beginning of the book. Have you ventured into any of the Lord of the Rings trilogy books yet?

  • Very cute. We are reading the Lord of the Rings Aloud over here, but we have been working on it since February and just started book 3. It has been a serious commitment.

This is so cute!! My guys loved The Hobbit too. GG and I would often fight over who got to put the boys to bed, knowing that person was going to get to read that night. Great story!
