Gratitude

Gratitude December 11, 2015

Dear Universe,

I wanted to pause this morning and say thank you. Seriously. I know I am often rushing around, living in a state of somewhat organized and usually blissful chaos, and because of that, I don’t always take the time to pause and really notice all the blessings and magic in my life. I try, you know that, but to paraphrase Yoda, trying isn’t enough: I have to live my thoughts and words.

So as we spin through this season of darkness, filled with celebrations of the return of the light, I am stopping this morning with my head held back and my arms and heart open wide to say thank you. Thank you for the challenges and the moments that make me cry. Thank you for the delights and the moments that make me smile. Thank you for my home, and thank you for my community. Thank you for family, and thank you for solitude. Thank you for my body, this soul vessel I am still learning to love. Thank you for the lessons I have learned, and thank you for the lessons still to come.

Thank you for the words, and thank you for the understanding when I don’t always come to the page to do this work. Thank you for my work, and for the work of my heart and soul.

A million times infinity, thank you. For everything.

Love,

One of your children
