CAPC co-founder, writer, editor, etc. (I’m sure he has more titles that I’m too low-ranking to know about) Alan Noble taught me about the “Jesus Juke.” For a complete definition, including examples, see John Acuff’s “Stuff Christians Like” site on the “Jesus Juke”. I learned of this term from Alan, but I’d certainly seen the concept at work long before I knew its name. It was the first thing that occurred to me when I read this piece of news: Kate Middleton is expecting! Really, isn’t this news that’s been speculated about since her April 29, 2011 wedding to Prince William? This time, at least, the royal couple has confirmed its truth.
So here, in the midst of the Christmas season, is my Jesus Juke. Expecting a royal baby? Me too. I’m anticipating the birth of Jesus, our Lord and Savior. What do you think would happen if the world made as much fuss about his birth?
In all seriousness, though, I wish the British royals all the best—a happy, healthy family, and a Merry Christmas, too.
