2020 Summer Reading

2020 Summer Reading

Yesterday morning at The Church at West Franklin, I began a new sermon series called “God is the Question.” In complete transparency (I hope!) I shared (in the sermon and on today’s West Franklin Talks Podcast) that I borrowed the title from a really good book by Martin Copenhaver, called Jesus is the Question. If you are looking for a good summer read, especially a good devotional summer read, I commend it to you.

A few other books that deal with the questions Jesus asked are Holy Curiosity: Encountering Jesus’ Provocative Questions by Winn Collier and The Questions of Jesus by John Dear.

If you are like me, you are always looking for a good read – especially during the summer time.

Below are a couple of books I am currently reading and/or plan to (hope to!?) read over the next couple of months:

Wholeheartedness: Busyness, Exhaustion, and Healing the Divided Self by Chuck DeGroat (the Kindle edition is on sale for $1.99 at the time of this writing!)

The Captain Class: A New Theory of Leadership by Sam Walker

The Motive by Patrick Lencioni

The Care of Souls: Cultivating a Pastor’s Heart by Harold Senkbeil

Indistractable: How to Control Your Attention and Choose Your Life by Nir Eyal

For what it’s worth, one I plan to read the moment it becomes available is A Burning in my Bones: The Authorized Biography of Eugene Peterson, Translator of the Message by Winn Collier

What are some books on YOUR summer reading list?
