Clarity: A Mid-Week Letter to West Franklin

(Emailed to West Franklin members on August 12th, 2020)

West Franklin Family,

We are approaching the half year mark since the pandemic interrupted all of our lives in March. Needless to say, this has been one of the most trying seasons we have, collectively, experienced in a long time. And, as we all know, it is not going away any time soon. As I write, the college football season is looking less and less likely to happen (insert huge sobs here).

 Over the last week, our church leadership has intentionally and prayerfully considered our upcoming campus plan. To provide you with as much clarity as possible, I want to share with you our plan for the remainder of this calendar year (December 31, 2020).

We will continue to offer worship services online and in person at 9:00 and 11:00 a.m. We will keep to the recommendations of the Governor’s Office of Faith Based and Community Initiatives as it refers to building capacity and physical distancing guidelines. I am thrilled to announce that, beginning Sunday August 23^rd, we will be able to provide worship care for children, ages birth – 4 years. A link to RSVP will accompany the registration email sent out each Monday morning.

Through the end of the year, our preschool, children, student, and adult groups will need to continue meeting off campus or via Zoom. Considering the plethora of factors, this is the best course of action for all involved. You can rest assured that each of our ministries will provide Biblical content to encourage, equip, and engage you and your family to be disciples who make disciples. As you’ve heard me say before – this gives us an unprecedented opportunity to do kingdom business in creative ways. 

We plan to have several outdoor family gatherings, the first one scheduled for September 13^th. Be on the lookout for more details on this and future gatherings.

Please keep in mind that this plan is set, unless there is a major government or health official recommendation in Williamson County. We will make sure to keep you updated if there are any changes or updates.

 West Franklin, thank you for being YOU. Thank you for your prayers, support, and continued diligence to work through, and in the midst of, this season. As the Veggie Tales used to sing, “When life hands you a lemon, just have some more root beer!” You are the best at not griping about the lemon, but eagerly searching for more root beer to drink. I love being your pastor.
