The last acts of Welles Crowther were methodical, commanding, selfless and courageous, and saved the lives of many. His body was found in the rubble next to NYC firefighters. Apparently he made three trips up the steps of the towers helping people get to safety before he lost his own life. Though he was businessman, he had the heart of a firefighter. His parents Jeff and Alison Crowther found an almost complete application for the NYC Fire Department in his apartment when they went through his belongings.
What a story. What a man.
