Winners of Wife-Carrying World Championship receive wife’s weight in beer

This competition began in 1992 and is held annually with over 40 couples and thousands of spectators. There is great competition between Finland and neighboring Estonia. The Estonian Team of Margo Uusborg and Brigit Ulricht were the winners every year from 1998-2008. The Fins have taken the title since 2009, but apparently the Russian couple featured in this video stole the “beer” in 2016!
