Rosa’s Fresh Pizza in Philadelphia has distributed over 70,000 slices of pizza to the homeless. Customers come in and pre-purchase $1 slices of pizza. The customer proceeds to stick a post-it note on the restaurant wall. Homeless people can then come in (about 100 people a day) and redeem their post-it note for a slice. What an easy way to make sure people living on the streets can get warm and also have something hot to eat? Love this “Pay it Forward” idea so much! Seems like this could be replicated in cities everywhere!
