A program to help homeless/foster college freshmen get started in college

The last college students are moving into their dorms all across the country and for first year students, that often means summer shopping for new bedding, clothing and dorm decorations. Families pack up cars and make the trek near and far to the new homes of their sons and daughters. Often tears are shed…sometimes rivers of tears. But for homeless students and those that have been in foster care, it can be a lonely time of moving into a brand new environment without much support.

Thankfully, the kids in this video feel welcomed to their school through the help of the Renaissance Program at Fresno State in affiliation with Kleenex. It’s heartwarming to see them and their gratefulness shines through.
