The American Catholic has several wonderful posts about this important celebration called Independence Day.  And celebrate we should!  We live in a free country.  So far.  Many are attempting to end that freedom.  But if we’re clever, resolute and wise, we can avoid the fate of so many nations and societies over the last few hundred years.  There are several posts worth reading, covering everything from our ongoing struggle to maintain this great experiment, to the Catholic presence in the revolution, to a great little story that is appropriate for this day that celebrates liberty.  Here are the links:  One, two, three, four.
