Requiem for the news media

This morning, Chris Cuomo mentioned that CNN was not obsessing about the one story CNN spent the entire morning covering.  That story shouldn’t need to be mentioned, since it’s the only one that most of the American media has talked about today.  I had to go to FOX News to find out who spoke yesterday at the GOP Convention.  I’m no fan of FOX, and I realize the spin will be a positive one, but at least it talked about what happened.  Across the media, on outlet after outlet, including Internet outlets, all I could find was a story that ultimately doesn’t matter when we consider what our nation is up against.  John C. Wright points out the deplorable state of our media today.  And like Mr. Wright, I can’t help but think that the singular focus of so many outlets was meant to keep us from seeing a few uncomfortable speeches that supporters of the Democratic ticket would rather ignore:
