A record 2000 years in the making

So Michael Phelps did it.  He broke a record that has stood for over 2000 years.  I love stories like this.  It’s when the press can let down its hair and have some fun.  Hopefully we can set aside our differences long enough to marvel at this athlete of athletes.  Some people are born to do things, and Phelps was born to swim.  Even last night, less than 40  minutes after winning gold, he was back in and making it to 2nd place in the semis.  Most were hoping he’d finish in the top four.  We’ll see if this proportionately old man for the sport can do it again.  But it’s been a heck of a ride.  One I’d like to think would make Leonidas proud.
