Any evangelical pastor would get these

Especially if you served in rural communities.  A favorite story is from a church in rural Kentucky.  The committee was meeting with me.  During the process, they showed me the parsonage.  A nice little brick house next to woods and farmlands.  As we took the tour, I noticed in the front room there was a fireplace, but it was sealed up and bare.  I asked them about it, they said there used to be a fireplace.  I asked what happened.  They explained that with all these city fellows coming from Louisville, they didn’t think it would be wise to leave a fireplace in the house.  After all, city folks might end up burning down the house.  I chuckled.  What faith and respect you have for us city fellows coming from Louisville, I thought.  Ah, the fun of pastoring small, rural churches.  There’s really nothing like it.
