How to do Imperialism in the post-modern world

And do it right.  Bill Maher called the Left’s unwillingness to admit that there could be a problem with violence in the Islamic world ‘Soft Bigotry.’  Along with that is our ‘Soft Imperialism‘, in which we dangle life and death over a culture unless they conform to our modern, Western, liberal values.  That’s not me.  That is time and again the witness and perspective of those in the countries where the choice is being demanded.   Add to that our modern ‘Soft Slavery‘ in the form of human trafficking, primarily for sex, and for all our self-congratulatory bluster, we’ve gone full circle to that period in Western history that liberals so love to lambaste.
