The ACC joins the NCAA in keeping politics in their proper place

Ah, I remember the dark years when sports was supposed to be a pure pastime, not tainted by ugly political opinions.  Back when Rush Limbaugh was hired by ESPN, and so many objected because Limbaugh was so political.  Even as recently as Tim Tebow’s infamous Super Bowl commercial, when we were again reminded that such social and political commentary should be kept hell and gone from the hallowed grounds of athletic competition.

Whew, thank goodness we’re done with that.  I was worried there would still be parts of our society that weren’t part of the all important political discourse.  I’m glad the NCAA and now the ACC, in the name of tolerance and diversity, have stepped forward and made right that terrible wrong.  Politics, after all, should be everywhere. In everything.  Politics surrounds us and penetrates us and binds the us together…
