Speaking of Fake News

Speaking of Fake News November 29, 2016

A little story I thought about commenting on, then decided not to.  Simply because people were hurt, reputations maligned, and it might distract from the greater problem of sexual assault on campuses that does need addressed.  Nonetheless, as my blood pressure rises with anger at the MSM for so contemptuously lecturing everyone else on this sudden pandemic of Fake News stories, I thought it was good to remind everyone that if there is such a thing as fake news, we have only to thank the masters for showing everyone how it’s done.  The Rolling Stone example isn’t the first, of course.  And it’s not even the worst.  The MSM is supposedly made up of seasoned professionals who have gone through years of college and training and are monitored by the most sophisticated news agencies in the world.  And yet, how often do false stories, flawed information, and outright twisted narratives in order to glean ratings, sell papers or advance agendas, make their way into the public consciousness?  So Fake News?  Yes, that’s a problem.  Let’s start with the most egregious violators of this lofty standard, and then we can move past the MSM and start looking at other places like Social Media.
