How about that. Many pundits have noted he didn’t specify what offensive remarks he was apologizing for. I figure we can give him a break. If he listed everything he has said that was offensive, it would take all day.
FWIW, I am not happy with what Trump has said at different times. My problem with him, however, is not that. We are post-moderns. We venerate Comedy Central and have no problem acting like Trump on social media. Like my boys said, people in our modern culture offended at Trump’s behavior is like a football* fan who hates rugby because rugby is too violent.
My problem is that there are few indications he has anything close to conservative, traditional Christian values or policy positions. Those few that seem to be conservative appear more to be caricatures of conservative policies rather than conservative policies. Unless that changes, I see no reason to cast my lot for him over Hillary Clinton.
*For all you non-Americans, I mean American football, not the sport called soccer that some mistakenly identify as football. 🙂
