An explosion was reported inside a Target bathroom in Evanston, Illinois on Wednesday night according to local authorities.
Thankfully the women’s restroom was empty and the damage is being reported as minimal, but many are questioning the motives of the bomb.
The bombing follows a national controversy over Target’s transgender bathroom policy that states, “transgender team members and guests to use the restroom or fitting room facility that corresponds with their gender identity.”
The announcement was followed by a religious-based boycott by more than 1 million anti-trans advocates who said the policy would put their children at risk.
Was this bombing stunt a warning from Christian terrorists?
Not according to authorities who have a 44-year-old woman in custody and in a press release who have said, “The detectives are not currently looking for any known additional suspects and (at) this point there is no indication that the incident is related to any policies that the Target store has in place.”
While the motives are unknown, mine and other media outlets jump to tying this to the transgender bathroom policy may be well founded, but not related.
