How you can help Refugees

Baby Syria 2There are hundreds of thousands of Christian refugees in the Middle East. They have been forced from their homes by the sword or the pistol. Here were the choices : Convert,  Pay an exorbitant tax,  Give up your wives and children and die…or leave.

These people stood by their faith, leaving the crosses on their necks and the Holy Scripture in their hearts.

They scattered to urban apartments and camps in Lebanon, Jordan, rural Iraq and Syria. Most cannot make a living. None of them can go home.

NinevehWeightLifter (8)You can directly give to people serving Christian refugees in Jordan at www.JordanRefugee.com. The giving page is here. There is no middleman or organizational cut. This goes directly to the people in need. Right now, they need food, clothing, heaters and bedding before winter bears in.

There is a Syrian family who are making these handmade crosses. They support themselves and several others, as well as a home church.

Adham learned this exquisite technique in a Syrian prison, where he was a political prisoner. There he met Jesus.

The crosses are wood with an intricate copper edging. They are about 4.5 inches high.  There are embedded stones in the cross and the piece is finished in ground coffee soaked into the wood. Every piece is different.Syrian Cross

For $16 you can have one of these and directly help these families who are trying to make their way in trying times.
