I love sitting and thinking in the Lubbock Texas Temple’s celestial room. As peaceful solitude surrounds me, I contemplate issues and questions, usually while staring at the glorious dome or chandelier or stained glass. In the mornings, the sunlight dances on the glass and crystals creating a colorful kaleidoscope.

One morning as I focused on the chandelier, I noticed that each crystal became a prism, individually catching the sunlight and sharing that light through some color of the spectrum. Curiously, neighboring chandelier crystals on the same strand refracted opposite colors on the spectrum. The chandelier manifested the entire rainbow through its individual crystals.
To have a perfectly whole chandelier, each crystal’s placement proves vital and necessary. And while each crystal seems standardly uniform, it actually responds uniquely to light based on its particular circumstance. How interesting that each crystal experienced the light so differently based on its unique spot in the chandelier!

We Are God’s Chandelier Crystals
Through that chandelier, I saw how perfectly created and placed each of us are in the plan of God.
So God created man in his own , in the image of God created he him; male and created he them.
And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be
, and , and the , and subdue it: and have over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.
In our unique circumstances, we manifest His light to those around us. Sometimes we don’t see that what we share really matters or makes a difference but it does!
I love the Psalmist’s declaration:
I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.
Search me, O God, and know my heart:
me, and know my thoughts:And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.
The Lord’s plan of salvation does just that. He is the Way and wants to give us everlasting life.
That which is of God is that light groweth brighter and brighter until the perfect day.
; and he that , and in God, receiveth more ; and
Jesus Christ is the light we radiate as God’s perfectly placed chandelier crystals. May we shine confidently as we seek to receive more and more light … until the perfect day.
