7. You’ve been reading this list and knowing that they’re all true in your situation but you still keep making excuses why you can’t quit.
Listen, I get it. It’s scary and it’s difficult to walk away from the security and predictability of a job, but if all these things are happening in your job, then the cost of staying is going to be FAR greater than the cost of leaving. As a pastor, I spend time around people at the end of their lives, and one of the most common deathbed regrets is letting unfulfilling work take so much joy out of their lives and rob so much time from their families and never having the courage to do something about it. Don’t let that be your regret too. Life is short. Take action!
