Wherein We Meet our “Hero”

Wherein We Meet our “Hero”

‘There is no human being on earth capable of declaring with certitude who he is. No one knows what he has come into this world to do, what his acts correspond to, his sentiments, his ideas, or what his real name is, his enduring Name in the register of Light… History is an immense liturgical text where the iotas and the dots are worth no less than the entire verses or chapters, but the importance of one or the other is indeterminable and profoundly hidden.’ – Leon Bloy

I suppose an introduction of sorts is due. What a strange journey. Seems like every chance I feel like my life is going some way and I got a bead on who I am, there is a curve in the road slightly out of view and I careen into strange new pastures.

My Name is Sergio, if you didn’t know and I guess this is the next chapter in my journey. When Artur Rosman (who runs Cosmos the in Lost) offered me an opportunity to chronicle my thoughts and adventures at Patheos to be honest, I thought it was a joke. Then after talking to him, concluded the man was fairly serious (As serious as one can be, in such trivial matters), decided to go for it. None of that particularly answers who I am, instead it describes how I got here. Forgive me for starting the story In Medias Res, but I don’t think the beginning is a very good place to start for this story.

Point is, I have been back to a being practicing Catholic for some time now. What deep theological ramblings or great hidden mysteries of the universe I will unlock, I can’t really say. I am a man who loves stories and writing and will strive to tell good stories and deliver good writings here at my new online home at Patheos. I do possess a sense of humor, if you couldn’t glean as much from the aesthetics and site name, but I am going to try to avoid making this solely a site for me to write humorously…but there will be humor, cause…c’mon…I’m still me.

Anyways, Thank you for joining up and hope you enjoy what I write.

Let the games begin!
