Erik Rush Goes Full Godwin on Chick-Fil-A

Erik Rush Goes Full Godwin on Chick-Fil-A August 6, 2012

Erik Rush, the black Worldnutdaily columnist who once actually wrote that America suffers from an excess of “negrophilia,” goes full Godwin in this column, arguing that the boycott of Chick-Fil-A is just like what the Nazis did to the Jews.

In April of 1933, the Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei (Nazi Party) in Germany began a nationwide boycott of Jewish businesses; this occurred shortly after Adolf Hitler became chancellor of that nation. The official program of discrimination was the first of many measures with which most Americans of my generation are familiar, and which ended with the Holocaust.

In keeping with the uncannily Orwellian tack American liberals have taken, the war on Christianity that has been in progress for decades (in earnest for the last several years) was denied with such vigor that even some conservative pundits questioned its existence. Lately, however, outrageously discriminatory, blatantly hypocritical campaigns against individuals and businesses professing Christian values have been initiated by those on the left. These have made it obvious to all but the profoundly dull that a war on Christianity is indeed in progress…

The advent of socialist totalitarianism – as evidenced by the incremental persecution of Christians and other recent events – is, without question, a far more serious matter than where chicken chain executives’ sentiments lie regarding homosexuality.

Arguments over homosexual unions, like so many contentious issues advanced by the left, are diversionary by nature, apart from their current implementation for this election cycle. This is because the goal here is absolute power, the primary objective to supplant God with government. To achieve this, religious doctrine must be eradicated, and the chief impediment to that is Christianity…

Replacing normalcy with deviance and morality with immorality are simply methods toward disenfranchising Christians, resulting in the convenient byproduct of a populace that is governed by its basest instincts – and thus easily controlled. As we have seen, such populations become willing to tolerate – and even participate in – all manner of atrocities.

During the 2004 campaign season, I recall video of entertainer and celebrated fag hag* Chér telling a predominantly homosexual audience that George W. Bush would ship homosexuals off to death camps in cattle cars were he re-elected. I do know that this did not actually occur, but that vast numbers of European Jews did suffer that very fate once upon a time.

It began with a boycott of their businesses … and the rest is history.

Yep, Christians will be herded onto trains and put into concentration camps any day now. This prediction is every bit as idiotic as Cher’s (if she actually said that; I don’t know and don’t really care about anything Cher says on any subject).

  • Oh My God… It’s EXACTLY THE SAME!

  • Alukonis, metal ninja

This guy should read Animal Farm and then decide which political party the pigs most resemble.

  • slc1

It should be pointed out that the Nazi’s also eventually shipped homosexuals (at least male homosexuals) off to death camps, something that Rush only wishes he could do.

  • dugglebogey

Okay, when people who agree with you boycott, it’s because the businesses deserve it. When people who disagree with you boycott, they’re Nazis. We get it.

Also, if you want to be sure people realize you are a bigot who’s full of hate, continue to use phrases like “fag hag.” It’s right up there with “nigger lover.”

  • John Hinkle

Nice rant, but a little light on facts… as in, devoid of them.

Now if you’ll excuse me, I need to get back to my lion reserve. I’m training them for special stadium activities, because once we’re done boycotting Chick-Fil-A, we need to be prepared for Phase 2.

  • Google doesn’t even hint that Cher said what he claims. And I am sure that if she had said that there would be right wing blogs denouncing her.

But do you know who the true victim of this story is? Erik Rush. We can deduce that Erik Rush took some bad acid sometime early summer of 2004 had hasn’t come back to reality since. He’s spent the last 8 years of his life in a state of constant delusion and paranoria. That is a sad fate for even the saddest man.

  • Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei (Nazi Party)

Gotta give the man points for being up on his nazi trivia. See what I did there?

  • baal

This is because the goal here is absolute power, the primary objective to supplant God with government.

Weird, the memo I got said the liberal goal was equal opportunities for everyone, freedom from being abused and having an adequate safety net (and so forth). If god is not down with that, he can go hang.

  • lofgren

In fairness, what what the Nazis did to the Jews does have a lot in common with what Chik-Fil-A does to chickens. So maybe Rush was just confused.

  • jamessweet

Google doesn’t even hint that Cher said what he claims. And I am sure that if she had said that there would be right wing blogs denouncing her.

Dunno what you were Googling, but I was able to at least turn up, er, some right wing blogs denouncing her.

The original source seems to be the Drudge Report, but I only have a copy-paste of it here: http://www.dfwstangs.net/forums/showthread.php?p=2276336

Even at face value, this falls short of Erik Rush’s spin. Mostly it appears to be Cher simply saying, “Hey, if you’re gay, I hope you vote, because the right wing in this country does NOT like you”. If we take TDR at face value, she made an offhand remark about “you guys are going to be living in a state by yourselves” if the extreme right (exemplified by Jerry Falwell) continues to gain power. Meh.

  • Chiroptera

    …Chér….

Is this the same Cher of “Sonny and Cher” fame? ‘Cause her official website gives no indicate that she spells her name with an acute accent.

(Yes, yes I did look it up to check. So what?)

  • Replacing normalcy with deviance and morality with immorality are simply methods toward disenfranchising Christians, resulting in the convenient byproduct of a populace that is governed by its basest instincts – and thus easily controlled.

I think the “easily controlled” has already happened but not by government but by religion, esp. xtianity. The rich have simply recruited these folks, because there are not many rich and they need votes, and the religionists have lined up to be their drones, or otherwise easily controlled. For sure this portion of the public is “governed by its basest instinct [hate]” to then deny rights to others and reserve “morality” for themselves because their genocidal and hateful books tell them they are the chosen and thus “normal” I know this is all obvious to most of this group here and doesn’t really need to be stated, but for the ignorant who might lurk here before you assert the plot against religion you need to be honest and admit your plot against humanity.

I could only wish there were a plan to “disenfranchise” xtians but alas, there is that pesky Constitution with its Bill of Rights (that we support, unlike you) and so unlike you, we won’t deny you your right to believe in myths. You could reply in kind by acknowledging the rights of others.

  • busterggi

I do not recall the Nazis ever holding a kiss-in to protest those who disagreed with them.

It would be a better world if they had.

  • w00dview

I’m curious, have any Jewish people told wingnuts to fuck off and stop invoking the Holocaust any time their fee fees are hurt? I mean, you have to be one amoral piece of shit to constantly compare your situation to the Holocaust. Did anyone in the Senate or Congress chew Bachmann out over her holocaust-taxes comparison? Cause that was some fucked up shit.

  • I do not recall the Nazis ever holding a kiss-in to protest those who disagreed with them.

In the mind of a godwintroll, a kiss-in is morally equivalent to kristallnacht.

  • Actually, I believe the Nazi treatment of the Jews began with a detailed program of defamation about how they were the biggest threat to society and the natural order in existence.

  • Abby Normal

So here’s a tiny sliver of what comes up when I plug “boycott” into WND’s search. In none of these were the boycotts cast in a negative light, quite the opposite in fact. Strange that Mr. Rush has been silent about the apparent Nazi agenda his own employers have been pushing. One would think that a person of conscious would flee an organization as evil as he says his employers are.

    * Target, for selling Holiday Trees.

    * Best Buy, for wishing customers a, “Happy holiday.”

    * Ford, for advertising in a magazine targeted at homosexuals.

    * General Mills/Green Giant, for supporting SSM.

    * Disney, for supposedly pushing a homosexual agenda in its entertainment.

    * Every company that advertises on MTV, for encouraging amoung children, “sexual promiscuity, dishonesty, drunkenness, rudeness, rebellion and profane language.”

    * Gillette, for planning to put RFID tags in its razor packaging and perhaps photograph customers.

    * McDonalds, for supporting SSM.

    * CBS, for making an unflattering documentary about Reagan.

    * Groupon, for promoting pornography.

  • Apart from the fact that Cher doesn’t use it, the accent would be grave rather than aigu in the case of chère (note the e, which Cher also does not use). Not only is Erik Rush pretentious, he’s faux pretentious (which is the worst — but also the most common — kind).

  • baal “Weird, the memo I got said the liberal goal was equal opportunities for everyone, freedom from being abused and having an adequate safety net (and so forth).”

    Just like the Nazis!

dailydouq “You could reply in kind by acknowledging the rights of others.”

There’s nothing in the Bill of Rights about a so-called “right” to be wrong!

  • I can’t really speak for the 6 million Jews, but I kind of think they would have happily preferred being boycotted, if given the choice.

You wanna talk about a populace being easily controlled by their baser instincts?

Mork 21:16 ~ “And the Lord Jesus, Son of God and also God too as well, saw the restaurant and did go down, but not in a gay homo way, and He did feast and did eat much processed chicken and fizzy pop from a cup with a thing He did say printed on the bottom.”

“To achieve this, religious doctrine must be eradicated, and the chief impediment to that is Christianity…”

Christianity the chief impediment? Give ’em a little rope and they spend all their time persecuting each other. But the Jews… now those are some tenacious folks. Thousands of years of being hated by pretty much everyone who ever heard of them and they’re still hanging in there with their little beanies and not eating the most delicious of the meats. I’m reminded of a funny line from a book I read one time. A character said, “If they ever discover life on Saturn it will turn out they have three sexes, five arms, and something against the Jews.”

  • hjhornbeck

Mabus/Markuze @ 32: Aww, you’re back! I thought the police were looking over your shoulder this time, though…

  • lorn

Ahhh … but Cher thought that and, according to the Bible, if you think it it is the same as doing it. And how many liberals haven’t thought about stuffing fundamentalist Christians and Neo-cons into cattle cars and shipping them off to God-knows-where.

I also have it on good authority that the Nazis were thinking of having a kiss-ins and glitter bombing opponents but the Krupps has other ideas. Ideas based on methods using bullets and explosives providing both profit and urban renewal opportunities. But other than a very few subtle difference the two options were functionally the same. The global price of Chapstick and glitter, both strategically important materials in the late 30, also had something to do with it. It is one of those finer points of history seldom spoken of.

  • left0ver1under

Kristalnacht was a series of orchestrated attacks on jews for fictional “threats” and “crimes” that jews perpetrated. It was a pretext for further violence.

If anyone can be compared to that, it’s those who bomb abortion clinics and make false claims about what Planned Parenthood does. It compares to those who bomb and set fire to gay night clubs, or the shooting at a Sikh temple yesterday.

Take a good look at who was actually responsible and who was actually the victim in all those cases.

  • Ichthyic

Replacing normalcy with deviance and morality with immorality are simply methods toward disenfranchising Christians, resulting in the convenient byproduct of a populace that is governed by its basest instincts – and thus easily controlled.

it never ceases to amaze me that these people at some level realize this is what is actually happening to THEM. they have let themselves become controlled by authority figures, and at least part of them knows it’s bullshit, but in the end, sadly, all they can do is project!

it’s so pitiful. I’d weep for these people, but it wouldn’t help at all.

Wait a sec – I’m confused… are the (self-proclaimed Christians who took over the government, began deporting intellectuals, enforced traditional cultural gender roles, and tried to wipe out things such as homosexuality, atheism, and religions not their own) the good guys or the bad guys in Rush’s story?

    . . .

I do like how the right-wingers are trying to conflate Nazis with socialists, ’cause yanno, the word “Socialist” appears in the party’s name. I guess I should start a group called the “You Can Buy The Brooklyn Bridge From Me – Really! – Party” and see if I can make some money off of ’em.

  • iangould

Re “National Socialist”, I don’t have the book ready to hand but here’s the origin of the term according to “The German Dictatorship”.

within the American Christian Democrat movement of the 29th century – the right wing – the two big issues were The National Question – should there be a single German state and if so should it include the ethnically non-German provinces of the Austrian Empire – and the Social Question – how should Christian conservatives respond to the rise of avowedly atheist Marxist working class organizations.

Starting in the 1870’s, you have “National Social” or “Social National” groups within the German Right arguing that the two Questions are linked and that the threat of Marxism can only be forestalled by a Volk Deutsch state from which the Hungarians, Czechs etc and above all the Jews are excluded.

Around the same time within Austria you have the emergence of the German worker’s Party – emphasis on “German”. The DAP campaigned against non-Germans from other parts of Austria-Hungary being allowed to migrate to Vienna and the other major German-majority cities, against language rights for minorities etc. At both the national and local level, the DAP politicians allied with the right, sat with them in Parliament, formed coalition governments etc.

The Nationalsocialist Deutsche Arbeits Party (National Socialist German Worker’s Party) was created out of the merger of several “National Social” groups with the rump of the DAP.

In all his thousands of speeches there’s exactly one in which Hitler advocates confiscating (non-Jewish) capital and redistributing it.

Shortly after killing off (literally in many cases) the left-wing branch of the NSDAP in the Night of the Long Knifes, Hitler declared “Capitalism is simply the application of the Fuehrer Concept to Economics.”

  • iangould

A link re. the book I was referring to above:

    http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1537841.The_German_Dictatorship

That’s The German Dictatorship by Karl Dietrich Bracher.

  • Except Richard Wagner wrote in the 1870s that Jews should be eradicated. There also were politicians calling publicly in the 1890s — in the Reichstag — for a “final solution” … to the “Jewish problem.” So your history fails by quite a bit. There was a latent, and at times active, Jew hatred in Germany from at least the time of Martin Luther. The Nazis didn’t invent the idea of killing Jews, they were just stoking that sentiment.

And lastly, and most importantly, the people killing the Jews were nearly all CHRISTIANS. The people who lived near the death camps and lived their lives normally there — or as much of normal as was possible in a country at total war with a madman at the helm — were Christians. The people marching and dying in Hitler’s armies were Christians.

  • busterggi

We should get a not-real-Christians comment any second now.

  • slc1

Except Richard Wagner wrote in the 1870s that Jews should be eradicated.

Is there a source for this claim? It is quite true that Wagner was an antisemite, and wrote a moronic book entitled Jews in Music, which, among other things consisted of attacks on Meyerbeer and Mendelssohn. However, I am unaware that he advocated an Eichmann solution.

  • iangould

I’m not sure how my history fails me: the right-wing anti-semites of the 1870’s are precisely the people went on to found the NSDAP,
