Klingenschmitt Wins the Primary

Klingenschmitt Wins the Primary June 27, 2014

Intrepid demon hunter and weapons-grade idiot Gordon Klingenschmitt is now the Republican nominee for House District 15 in the Colorado House of Representatives. He beat his opponent by about 350 votes, which makes you wonder what the hell is happening in that district. As Right Wing Watch put it:

Just let that sink in: a man who thinks that “Obamacare causes cancer,” that the Bible commands people to own guns in order to “defend themselves against left wing crazies,” and that the FCC is allowing demonic spirits to “molest and visually rape your children” is now a Republican candidate for office.

Not to mention his amazing ability to discern demons in people he’s never met (not that it would be more credible if he identified demons in people he had met). And he needs some money:

Isn’t this great news? Honestly the race was closer than I expected, and I congratulate my Republican opponent for running a very competitive race. Now we must beat the Democrat.

However, we have some debt from the primary race. I just got a bill for $4,138 in printing costs and we have a few more bills outstanding, due this week.

Can you please contribute to help us repay our primary debt for this election victory? Then we can start from a clean slate to run against a common-core anti-gun Democrat in Nov.

Could he actually win office? Yep, he could.

  • Larimer County is one of the very conservative parts of Colorado, right down there with El Paso County, home of Colorado Springs and the United States Air Force Academy. I’m not all that surprised.

Isn’t district 15 the eastern ‘burbs of C Springs and the airport? That loon is gonna walk away with the win come this fall: there are few normals living down in the ‘Springs, but not many, and they’re *way* outnumbered on the east side of town…

Larimer County is one of the very conservative parts of Colorado,…

    Klingschmitt isn’t conservative.

He is just Fruitbat crazy, outright loony, or on the far reaches of the lunatic fringes.

This guy was kicked out of the military for repeatedly not following orders. And he had an easy job, pretending to talk to imaginary spirits as a military chaplain.

There doesn’t seem to be any bottom to how crazy you are and still be able to get elected in GOP districts any more.

I had to look up Larimer county. It contains Fort Collins, home of CSU. I’m not too familar with it, having spent most of my time in Boulder. Which is right next door.

Hey! Somebody has to take over the batshit crazy franchise for the Colorado legislature. I think its been vacant since Chris Buttars retired.

    Re John Pieret @ #4

Butters was a state senator in Utah.

In 1991 Denver passed a civil rights ordinance that included sexual orientation. This pissed off the conservatives in Colorado Springs (basically Klingenschmitt’s district) so badly that in 1992 they presented Amendment 2, a law that legalized discrimination against gays, lesbians, and bisexuals statewide.

  • Re John Pieret @ #4

Butters was a state senator in Utah.

Which makes it all the crazier that he was in Colorado passing laws!

KlingingSchitt is a loon all right, but he’s no further off than many of the other Republican legislators I keep reading about on these pages. Or a few actual members of Congress, either. Louie Gohmert, anyone?

You know all them square states look alike.

District 15 covers part of Colorado Springs in El Paso County (not Larimar County).

Sadly, Klingingshit has a very good chance of winning the general election. This is the same district that elected Douglas Bruce to the same position a few years ago.

Douglas Bruce is another real piece of work and his history has to read to be believed.

I know Co Springs all too well as I recently lived there for a few months. It’s a shithole of a Xian Repuglican mismanaged city in a beautiful setting. I blame most of the conservatism on the heavy presence of local military bases, Fort Carson in particular.

If they voted for ‘klick ‘n’ ‘shit’ one can only assume his Rethug’ opponent was a real fuckin’ clown!…but how embarrassing, beaten by a moron, that has gotta sting!

It appears that the Klinger is immediately becoming “persona non grata” with the Republican leadership. This appeared today:

GOP distancing itself from state House candidate from Colorado Springs

DENVER (AP) – The Colorado Republican Party is trying to distance itself from a GOP candidate running for the state House.

Gordon Klingenschmitt of Colorado Springs has compared President Barack Obama to a demon and considers homosexuality a sin. He prevailed in a GOP primary this week.

State Republican Party chairman Ryan Call tells The Denver Post that Klingenschmitt does not speak on behalf of the party. Klingenschmitt told the paper he plans to continue a daily half-hour religious show broadcast on DirectTV.

House District 15 is heavily Republican, making Klingenschmitt the likely victor in November against Democrat Lois Fornander.

The seat is currently held by Republican Rep. Mark Waller, who ran for state attorney general but withdrew.

I’m sure that the Klinger will “discern the spirits” and cast out the demons who dare to oppose him. It’s bad enough that someone like Klinger wins an election but what is worse is the fact that there were enough people to buy into his deceit, spin, lies and general hatred of anyone who doesn’t think as he does and elect him. He still has to win in November but it is my understanding that there aren’t enough Democrats in District 15 to defeat him. Perhaps in the world of politics he will run into someone more clever, deceitful and ruthless than he is who will be able to expose him for the truly repugnant person that he is.

Could he actually win office? Yep, he could.

    Could but surely won’t?

    Will he?

I’d have once said and sure hope that of course he won’t because people are smarter and better than that -but lately been shocked and disappointed so many times on who does get in (ahem, Tony Abbott, cough) that, sadly, yeah, can’t rule that out.
