Donald Trump’s presidential campaign is off to a brilliant start, with him declaring that Mexican immigrants to America are “rapists” and that Mexico sends its worst people here. First Univision and now NBC have dumped his Miss USA and Miss Universe pageants.
NBC is ending its long relationship with Donald Trump in the wake of the presidential hopeful’s recent comments about Mexican immigrants.
NBC said it will no longer carry the Trump-produced Miss USA and Miss Universe pageants. Nor will he return to the long-running reality show “The Celebrity Apprentice” as host.
“Due to the recent derogatory statements by Donald Trump regarding immigrants, NBCUniversal is ending its business relationship with Mr. Trump,” NBC said in a statement. “At NBC, respect and dignity for all people are cornerstones of our values.”
I can’t wait to hear Trump’s sputtering, incoherent, rage-filled and inevitably self-aggrandizing response. I imagine something like this:
“NBC knows that once I become president they’ll be out of business because I’ll solve every problem in the first two weeks and they’ll have nothing to report on. The liberal media is afraid of me because they know I’m the most successful, awe-inspiring and brilliant person to ever run for president. It’s a conspiracy between NBC and the Mexicans to stop me because they know that once I make America great again, billions of people will demand that I become president of the whole world.”
