Glenn Beck, still campaigning with his latest “next George Washington” Ted Cruz, told the crowd at a campaign stop that Cruz has the best chance of winning the White House because he has God himself on his side. Of course, about half the losing Republicans in the last few primaries have thought that too.
While campaigning alongside Ted Cruz yesterday in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Glenn Beck said that the Texas senator’s campaign is a continuation of the Tea Party movement’s push to defend the Constitution.
“I am so proud to stand with you Cruz supporters because we are the ones that really started this revolution,” he said.
Because of his supporters’ dedication to the Constitution, Beck said, “our guy has the best chance of winning, because we have the Almighty God on our side!”
Yeah, how did having “Almighty God” on their side help Rick Perry, Rick Santorum, Michele Bachmann, Ben Carson, Mike Huckabee and others? None of them have come close to even winning the nomination, much less the presidency. In fact, Glenn, didn’t you say that God was on Mitt Romney’s side in 2012 too? How’d that work out for ya? Maybe God actually supports Obama. Or maybe God doesn’t exist. Or maybe Glenn Beck is completely full of shit. At least two of those are true.
