Bryan Fischer Award Winner: Joe Scarborough May 24, 2016

The Bryan Fischer Award is given to those who display a staggering lack of self-awareness, often accusing others of their own worst sins. Get this one. Joe Scarborough, who has done everything but let Donald Trump walk him down Fifth Avenue on a leash, is criticizing CNN for giving Trump “unprecedented access.”

“They’ve been kissing up to him for months and months and months and months,” Scarborough complained during his Monday broadcast. “I mean, they’ve given him extraordinary access.”

“Some would argue,” co-host Mika Brzezinski said under her breath before adding, “I’ll just leave it right there.

“CNN has given him just incredible unprecedented access,” Scarborough ranted.

Earlier this year, Rolling Stone‘s Matt Taibbi explained how Scarborough and Brzezinski became “Trump’s lapdogs” during the Republican primary.

“Nobody who’s covered the Trump run could fail to notice the increasingly hot-and-sweaty ménage a trois between the candidate and Mika and Joe,” Taibbi wrote in February. “Even their on-air performance at the town hall last Wednesday was such a craven display of bumlicking and softballing that media critics all over the country denounced them for it.”

In related news, the pot and the kettle put out a press release that said simply “irony is dead” and plunged to their death after jumping off the Golden Gate bridge.
