Okay, Spicer Has to Have Hit Peak Stupid, Right? April 12, 2017

Since getting the job as White House Press Secretary, Sean Spicer’s daily press briefings have been like a volcano of stupidity. But he set the bar so high during his Tuesday press briefing that no one can ever top it, claiming that Assad is worse than Hitler because Hitler didn’t use chemical weapons.

In reflecting on the U.S. airstrike against Syria last week, Spicer referenced the horror of the chemical-weapons attack that had triggered it — an attack whose images left a deep impression on President Trump. “You look — we didn’t use chemical weapons in World War II. You had a … someone as despicable as Hitler, who didn’t even sink to using chemical weapons,” said Spicer in assessing the impact of last week’s events.

Hitler. Didn’t. Use. Chemical. Weapons. Sean, is the term “gas chambers” not clear enough for you? How about hydrogen cyanide, the chemical agent used to murder more than a million people at Auschwitz? Some of the other death camps just used carbon monoxide. Guess what, Sean? Those are chemicals, you moron. When he was reminded that the gas chambers did use chemical weapons, he tried to slither out of it by making this irrelevant distinction:

I think when you come to sarin gas, there was no — he was not using the gas on his own people the same way that Assad is doing. I mean, there was clearly. I —…

Thank you, I appreciate that. There was not — he brought them into the Holocaust center — I understand that. But I’m saying in the way that Assad used them, where he went into towns, dropped them down to innocent — into the middle of towns. It was brought to it, so the use of it and I appreciate the clarification and that was not the intent.

So apparently bringing the victims to the gas rather than the gas to the victims makes all the moral difference to this bloated sack of incompetence. Because remember, that was the whole point — even Hitler didn’t do that! But here’s the thing: Even his clarification is wrong. Hitler did, in fact, send the chemical weapons to towns. In the Eastern part of Germany, they killed Jews and others by using “gaswagons,” vans equipped with the chemicals that did the killing where they lived rather than taking them to a camp. So even his desperate and inane attempt to wiggle out of it was based on total ignorance.

Sean Spicer is worse at his job than practically anyone I’ve ever seen do any job. I would make a better sherpa on Mt. Everest than this dolt is at being a press secretary. If this isn’t peak WTF from him, I can’t even imagine how he tops it.
