Donald Trump’s cringeworthy performance at the NATO summit was even worse than just his ignorance and/or dishonesty about the other nations owing us money. According to a report in Der Spiegel, he also went out of his way to insult Germany and pledge a trade war over their cars being sold in America.
President Donald Trump is ready to fight Germany in an auto battle according to Germany’s Der Spiegel.
Trump got a chilly reception at the NATO summit in Belgium after attacking fellow members. But he was caught pledging a battle with German automakers as part of his anger with “back dues” he feels the country owes to NATO. As CNN’s Jake Tapper noted Thursday, “Trump seems to think it’s like a country club.”In a discussion about the country’s trade surplus, Trump said. “The Germans are evil, very evil.”
“Look at the millions of cars they sell in the US, and we’ll stop that,” sources told Der Spiegel.
How about you start by stopping the sale of all of your own products you make in China, Mexico and many other countries, you ridiculous hypocrite. His charm offensive was just plain offensive. He praised the butchers in Saudi Arabia and insulted our allies in NATO. Just embarrassing.
