“Coach” Dave Daubenmire is apparently concerned that he’s been proving his racism and anti-Semitism too much lately and not given enough evidence of his misogyny. Seeking to correct that, he says that Ann Coulter and Laura Ingraham should not be conservative role models because they aren’t married. Because they’re too feminist. Or something.
“The two women who come to my mind when we start talking about conservative women,” he said, “Laura Ingraham has her own show on Fox News. I love Laura Ingraham. Ann Coulter, we see Ann Coulter everywhere, a warrior for the conservative cause. I simply ask the question: These women are both in their 50s and neither has been married, what’s up with that?”“Should our role models in the conservative movement be two women, neither of whom has ever been married?” Daubenmire asked, again singling out Ingraham for “having children, but doesn’t have a father in the home.”…
“Is there something sinister within the conservative movement?” he said. “Is there something sinister at work? Guys, you don’t want to hear this but I’m going to tell you something: feminism is alive and well in the American Christian church.”
Oh yeah, it’s a hotbed of feminist thinking. I mean, they actually let women speak in church these days. Can you believe that? I mean, Paul would be furious over this. After all, this is the mean who wrote in his letter to the Corinthians, “Women should remain silent in the churches. They are not allowed to speak, but must be in submission, as the law says.” And apparently Daubenmire doesn’t want them to speak anywhere else either, unless they’ve got a husband. Because that’s not sexist at all.
