Don Boys is a Christian Reconstructionist who now writes for BarbWire (there’s a shock). He says up to 90% of all rape accusations are false and to support that ridiculous claim he points to the Biblical standard: If the woman doesn’t scream, she wasn’t raped. And even if she did scream, she has to scream soon enough.
Some common sense definitions are necessary regarding this accusation. Rape is having sex with a woman while she screams for help. No scream, no rape according to Deuteronomy 22:23-24. Ford says Kavanaugh held his hand over her mouth so did she scream for help when his hand was elsewhere? After all, it was in a bedroom of a house; surely, one of the other 4 teens could have heard him scream when she bit his hand. Did she bite his hand? Poke him in the eye? Women know instinctively how to protect their honor: screaming, shouting, slapping, spitting, slugging, and stabbing with a finger, pencil, or hat pin. Since she did not cry out or stab him, I will not believe her without a film of the event.
I’m so shocked to find out that a man who thinks the brutally misogynist Old Testament is the eternal word of God also thinks women just make up rape accusations willy nilly. Of course, if she actually was raped, that same book of the Bible says that Kavanaugh would just have to give her father — who owns her, of course — $50 and then she has to marry him. Because that’s not barbaric and inhumane or anything, is it?
