So for the third time in the last two and a half months, and the second time in the last two weeks, I am back in the hospital. The bleeding ulcer we got stopped started bleeding again and my hemoglobin plummeted again. They’ve given me one unit of blood so far and I’ll probably get another today, at least. We really need to get to the bottom of this soon.
I also may have to have another endoscopy and a procedure to put a filter into a vein in my leg to contain a blood clot. Lots of tests coming up. You know the worst thing about being in the hospital? It’s damn near impossible to sleep because of the constant interruptions. I just get settled in bed, sleep half an hour and they come wake me up to take vital signs, or to take blood, or to hang a new bag on the IV (I have IVs in both arms, one for the blood transfusions and one for other medications). I want to scream JUST LEAVE ME THE HELL ALONE.The other problem with being acutely anemic and spending all this time in the hospital is that it really makes it difficult to make a living. I’ve managed to keep up with the blogging but the anemia and hospital time has made it nearly impossible to do anything else. So if you’re so inclined and have the ability, I would welcome some help getting caught up. You can send a donation to my Paypal account, which is under email@example.com. I hate to ask, but with everything else going on with my health, the stress of that is the last thing I need.
