Republican National Committee Chairwoman Ronna Romney McDaniel went on Fox and Friends, where they let her lie through her teeth about the Republican policy of eliminating the requirement that all insurance policies cover those with preexisting conditions without jacking up their premiums.
The amazing audacity of this lie is almost breathtaking. They have voted over and over again, virtually unanimously, to repeal Obamacare, which would do away with that requirement. They are right now in the 5th Circuit Court trying to get the courts to do it for them, since they fell a vote short of repealing it themselves last year. Who are you going to believe, them or the things they’re actually doing? But to then compound that audacity by accusing those who are accurately pointing out their lie as being engaged in fear-mongering is astonishing chutzpah. But it works. They have so conditioned their followers that they will believe literally anything they say.
AINSLEY EARHARDT (CO-HOST): What would you say the biggest problem facing the Republican Party is? Is it women? I mean, you’re a woman, you’re a mother, you still support the president. What’s your message to those women that are on the fence?
RONNA ROMNEY MCDANIEL (REPUBLICAN NATIONAL COMMITTEE CHAIRWOMAN): Well, the Democrats have really tried to fearmonger on health care and tried to tell people that Republicans are going to take pre-existing conditions. It is flat out false. The president has been on the stump refuting that. We have candidates sharing stories of their family members, of their kids, of their mothers who have pre-existing conditions. Of course we would never take away that right. So that’s one of the things that the Democrats are trying to do, they try and scare their voters.
