Who’s to blame for the murder of Heather Heyer in Charlottesville in 2017? If you answered James Fields, the neo-Nazi who killed her, you might be a rational person. If you answered “positive media coverage a year and a half later of someone no one knew existed at the time,” you might be a host on Alex Jones’ InfoWars network. That’s the argument Owen Shroyer makes.
“Sandy @AOC Cortez flares her nostrils and gets more media attention than a sitting Congressman @SteveScalise being shot by a radicalized left-wing terrorist,” Shroyer said, apparently forgetting the wall-to-wall coverage that Rep. Steve Scalise’s shooting received. “The same media that gives AOC all the positive attention is the reason why the shooter was radicalized.”“If a deeper truth be told, the same media is partly responsible for the death of Heather Heyer. Drumming up the Trump hysteria which manufactured that scenario,” Shroyer wrote.
So let me see if I have this straight. Positive coverage of AOC “radicalized” both a left-winger to shoot a Republican congressman and a neo-Nazi to become a neo-Nazi and run over a left-wing protester with his car, and all before anyone had a clue who AOC was because it was before she won a surprise primary victory in a House race. He must have been eating some of that chili that seems to have such an effect on Alex Jones. To quote Vizini, truly he has a dizzying intellect. Shroyer’s show is called War Room; apparently the war is on logic.
