This was a week ago when this story first broke, but I somehow missed it. In response to the story that he had gone to great lengths to conceal his conversations with Vladimir Putin even from his own closest aides, Trump told Jeanine Pirro that he couldn’t care less whether those conversations were made public.
President Donald Trump on Saturday said he would be willing to release the details of his private conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Helsinki last summer.
“I would. I don’t care,” Trump told Fox News host Jeanine Pirro in a phone interview. “I’m not keeping anything under wraps. I couldn’t care less.”…
“I had a conversation like every president does,” Trump said Saturday. “You sit with the president of various countries. I do it with all countries.”
And yet the conversations with Putin are the only ones you’ve taken steps to conceal. The claim here is quite easy to test. All he has to do is order the release of the interpreter’s notes or authorize them to testify about them. If he “couldn’t care less,” why doesn’t he just do that? Because he’s lying. As always.
