Rick Wiles, the utterly deranged crackpot who owns TruNews, claimed that the White House specifically asked him to send someone to cover the upcoming North Korea summit. This would not be a shock, as he has granted credentials to Wiles and other wingnut “news” outlets in the past.
Despite the fact that End Time broadcaster Rick Wiles is a truly radical conspiracy theorist, his TruNews network has been embraced by the White House and it’s correspondents are routinely invited to travel with the White House press corps to cover President Trump’s foreign trips.
It therefore seems fitting that in a week during which Wiles spent multiple programs warning that Gisele Bundschen, wife New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady, is a witch, Wiles announced last night that TruNews had been invited by the White House to cover Trump’s upcoming meeting with North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un in Vietnam.
Wiles and his co-hosts marveled at the close ties the network has been able to establish with the White House, so much so that “they are on a first name basis” with White House staff, which prompted Wiles to predict that he will eventually be able to score a one-on-one interview with the president in the Oval Office.
In any previous administration, this would have been unthinkable. No previous president would have given press credentials to Wiles, or to Alex Jones, or the Gateway Pundit. They have deliberately searched out the least credible, most ridiculous parts of the wingnutosphere to cover the White House, knowing that they’ll give glowing coverage to pretty much anything Trump does.
