“Coach” Dave Daubenmire has been revealing his virulent anti-Semitism more and more lately and he takes it a step further on a recent edition of his Youtube show by denying the reality of the genocide of six million Jews by citing a dubious source that drastically undercounts the number of Jews in the world at the time.
Daubenmire, who is blatantly anti-Semitic, highlighted a list contained in his copy of the “Pronouncing Edition of the Holy Bible“—which was published in 1900 and claimed that there were 7.5 million Jews in the world at the time—and used it to question how six million Jews could have been killed in the Holocaust just a few decades later.
“I’m not going to get into the depth about it because you are going to call me names,” Daubenmire said. “In 1900, there were 7,500,000 in the world. This ain’t forged. Folks, 7,500,000 Jews in the world. Can somebody explain to me how six million of them died in Germany? That is all I am going to say. I’ll let you figure the rest out.”
“Forty years later, six million of them died?” he added. “In Germany? They were all in Germany and died in Germany? Uh oh, I’m making some of you nervous.”
This version of the Bible is not even close on its count of Jews in the world at the time. A study by the Berman Jewish Policy Archive at Stanford puts that number at 16.6 million Jews worldwide in 1939, with 9.5 million of them living in Europe at the time. That pretty much destroys his position, which he makes more by innuendo than by actual argument. He clearly knows how this makes him sound, but it makes him sound like an anti-Semite because he is one. He just doesn’t want to come right out and say it.
